  • Each capsule contains Amoxycillin 125 mg Dispersible Tablets & 125 mg/5 ml Dry Syrup.
  • For the treatment of respiratory tract infection, skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Amoxicillin is similar to penicillin in its bactericidal action against susceptible bacteria during the stage of active multiplication. It acts through the inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis that leads to the death of the bacteria.
  • The usual dose of Amoxicillin is 20 to 90 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
  • Contraindicated in patients who have experienced a serious hypersensitivity reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome) to amoxycillin or to other β-lactam antibiotics (e.g., penicillins and cephalosporins).
  • Serious and occasionally fatal anaphylactic reactions have been reported in patients on penicillin therapy. Serious anaphylactic reactions require immediate emergency treatment with supportive measures. Convulsions may occur in patients with impaired renal function or in those receiving high doses or in patients with predisposing factors.
  • Probenecid decreases renal tubular secretion of amoxicillin which may result in increased blood levels of amoxicillin. The oral typhoid vaccine is inactivated by antibacterials.
  • The most commonly reported adverse effects are diarrhea, rash and nausea.
