Meconerv PSR Tablet (Methylcobalamin+Pregabalin)

  • Each tablet contains Methylcobalamin IP 1500 mcg+ Pregabalin IP 75 mg
  • In the treatment of neuropathic pain
  • Pregabalin binds with high affinity to the alpha2-delta site (an auxiliary subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels) in central nervous system tissues. Binding to the alpha2-delta subunit may be involved in pregabalin anti-nociceptive and anti-seizure effects. Methyl Cobalamine is a form of Vitamin B12 essential for growth, cell reproduction, hematopoiesis, and nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis
  • One capsule twice daily.
  • In patients with hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any other ingredients or excipient of the formulation.
  • Patients should be monitored for the emergence or worsening of depression, suicidal thoughts or behaviour, and/or any unusual changes in mood or behaviour. May cause peripheral oedema, dizziness, somnolence, seizure, creatinine kinase elevations are suspected. Patients should be informed that pregabalin-related dizziness and somnolence may impair their ability to perform tasks such as driving or operating machinery.
  • There are no adequate and well-controlled studies and hence not to be given.
  • Patients should be told to avoid consuming alcohol while taking pregabalin, as pregabalin may potentiate the impairment of motor skills and sedating effects of alcohol. Patients who require concomitant treatment with CNS depressants such as opiates or benzodiazepines should be informed that they may experience additive CNS side effects, such as somnolence. May altesr the intestinal microflora and may decrease the absorption of methylcobalamin.
  • Most common adverse reaction with Pregabalin are Dizziness, somnolence, drymouth, oedema, blurred vision, weight gain, and thinking abnormal and for Methylcobalamin- Anorexia, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
