Betabrim Uno Eye Drops (Brimonidine Tartrate + Timolol Maleate)

• Composition :
  Brimonidine 0.2% + Timolol Maleate 0.5% eye drops.
• Indications :
  Indicated for the control of intraocular pressure in patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to IOP reducing monotherapy
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Brimonidine tartrate is an alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist and Timolol maleate is a non-selective beta adrenergic receptor blocking agent that does not have significant intrinsic sympathomimetic, direct myocardial depressant, or local anesthetic (membrane-stabilizing) activity. The effect of reducing IOP in eye is due to reduced aqueous formation.
• Dosage and administration :
  One drop in the affected eye(s), twice daily approximately 12 hours apart.
• Precautions and warnings :
  Contraindicated in Bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,sinus bradycardia, second or third degree atrioventricular block, overt cardiac failure, cardiogenic shock, Neonates and infants (under the age of 2 years), Hypersensitivity to any component of this product. Precaution must be taken in potentiation of vascular insufficiency, muscular weakness, patients with diabetes mellitus and thyrotoxicosis.
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, nursing woman. Safety and effectiveness in infants below the age of one year have not been established.. It is contraindicated in children under the age of 2 years
• Drug interactions :
  Antihypertensives /cardiac glycosides, concomitant use with systemic beta-blockers, oral or intravenous calcium antagonists, catecholamine-depleting drugs, CNS depressants, digitalis and calcium antagonists, CYP2D6 inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
• Adverse reactions :
  Allergic conjunctivitis, conjunctival folliculosis, conjunctival hyperemia, eye pruritus, ocular burning, and stinging.
