Allercet L Tablets (Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride)

  • Each film-coated tablet contains Levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5 mg.
  • For treatment of allergic rhinitis & chronic urticaria.
  • Levocetirizine, the R-enantiomer of cetirizine, is a potent and selective antagonist of peripheral H1-receptors.
  • Must be taken orally, may be taken with or without food. Adults and adolescents 12 years and above: The daily recommended dose is 5 mg. Children aged 6 to 12 years: The daily recommended dose is 2.5 mg.
  • Patients with hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, patients with end-stage renal impairment at less than 10 mL/min creatinine clearance or patients undergoing hemodialysis and children 6 to 11 years of age with renal impairment.
  • Concurrent use of levocetirizine with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants should be avoided because additional reductions in alertness and additional impairment of central nervous system performance may occur. Engaging in hazardous occupations requiring complete mental alertness such as driving or operating machinery when taking Allercet-L should be avoided.
  • There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in human pregnancy and lactation. This product should be used in pregnancy only if clearly needed.
  • The extent of absorption of levocetirizine is not reduced with food, although the rate of absorption is decreased.
  • Somnolence, headache, fatigue, nasopharyngitis, dry mouth, and pharyngitis.
  • Anti-Allergics
