• Composition :
  Each ml contains Methylcobalamin 1000 mcg + Niacinamide 100 mg + Pyridoxine 100 mg.
• Indications :
  For the treatment of diabetic neuropathy in adults.
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Methylcobalamin is a form of Vitamin B12 essential for growth, cell reproduction, haematopoiesis, and nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis with profound neurological effect. Mecobalamin is converted to a cofactor which is essential for the conversion of methylmalonate to succinate and synthesis of methionine from homocysteine. It is a neurotrophic and acts as a growth promoter for nerve cells, acts as a methyl donor for the synthesis of Lecithin, a major component of the Myelin sheath. Niacinamide, an amide of vitamin B3 (niacin), is a hydrophilic endogenous substance required for cell respiration, metabolism, release of energy proper circulation, functioning of the nervous system, and normal secretion of bile and gastric fluids. Pyridoxine co-enzymes and helps regulate central nervous system functioning.
• Dosage and administration :
  One tablet once a day
• Contraindications :
  Known hypersensitivity to any of the active constituents or any other excipients
• Precautions and warnings :
  Mecobalamin is susceptible to photolysis. It should be used promptly after the package is opened, and caution should be taken so as not to expose the ampules to direct light. In intramuscular administration, caution should be exercised to avoid adverse effects on tissues or nerves.
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  There are no adequate and well-controlled studies. Safety and efficacy has not been established in these population and hence not to be used.
• Drug interactions :
  Careful administration with neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, histamine H2-antagonists, omeprazole, and colchicine. Serum concentrations may be decreased by contraceptives. The content of pyridoxine may interfere with the effects of concurrent levodopa therapy
• Adverse reactions :
  Most common adverse reaction are skin irritation and/or pain around the area of injection, bruising around the area of injection and any other mild allergies, decrease in blood pressure & dyspnea.
