Meconerv Forte Capsule (Benfotiamine + Pyridoxine + Mecobalamin + Inositol + Alpha Lipoic acid + Folic acid)

• Composition :
  Each capsule contains Benfotiamine 100 mg + Pyridoxine 3 mg + Mecobalamin 1000 mcg + Inositol 100 mg + Alpha Lipoic acid 200 mg + Folic acid 1.5 mg
• Indications :
  For the treatment of diabetic neuropathy in adults
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Mecobalamin is a neurotrophic and acts as a growth promoter for nerve cells, acts as a methyl donor for the synthesis of Lecithin, a major component of the Myelin sheath. Alpha-lipoic acid has antioxidant activity which benefits diabetic polyneuropathy. Folic acid is rapidly reduced and methylated to form tetrahydrofolic acid derivatives which are rapidly transported to the tissues. Benfotiamine enhances transketolase activity in erythrocytes and renal glomeruli protects the kidneys from glucose-induced damage and prevents the development of diabetic nephropathy. Benfotiamine corrects thiamine deficiency and can decrease the incidence of neuropathies
• Dosage and administration :
  1 capsule per day.
• Contraindications :
  In patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the active constituents or any other excipients of the formulation.
• Precautions and warnings :
  Supplemental alpha-lipoic acid may lower blood glucose levels. Those with diabetes on anti-diabetic medication should have their blood glucose monitored. Alpha-lipoic acid should be avoided by pregnant women and nursing mothers
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  There are no adequate and well-controlled studies, safety and efficacy in these populations has not been established.
• Drug interactions :
  Taking folic acid with fosphenytoin, phenytoin or primidone might decrease drug's concentration. Absorption of folic acid may be reduced by sulfasalazine.
• Adverse reactions :
  Most common adverse reactions are dizziness, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and skin rash.
