GCS Tab (Calcium Citrate Malate + Cholecalciferol +Folic acid )

  • Calcium Citrate Malate 250 mg + Cholecalciferol 100 IU (as stabilized Vitamin D3) +Folic acid 50 mcg tablets.
  • For the treatment of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency states (pregnancy, lactation, growing children)
  • Calcium citrate malate is a water-soluble calcium supplement. Calcium ions are absorbed directly into intestinal cells, and the citrate complex enters the body through paracellular absorption. Calcium is embedded in collagen fibrils provide rigidity to the skeleton. Calcium ions play a role in many metabolic processes. Vitamin D has long been known for its effects on calcium and bone metabolism. Folic acid is required for the formation of DNA, which is necessary for rapid cell growth needed to make fetal organs early in pregnancy.
  • 1-2 Tablets daily, orally as recommended by physician.
  • The use of this product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Hypercalcaemia, Hypercalciuria or hypophosphatemia Nephrocalcinosis or Nephrolithiasis, Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance).
  • The combination should not be used in patients who are having high calcium/vitamin D levels (hypercalcemia/hypervitaminosis D.

Thiazides are known to induce hypercalcaemia by the reduction of calcium excretion in urine.
