Loteprednol etabonate is a corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity. It is thought to inhibit prostaglandin production through several independent mechanisms.
One drop into the affected eye(s) four times daily.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients. Viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva, fungal diseases of the eye.
For ophthalmic use only. If signs and symptoms fail to improve after two days, the patient should be re-evaluated. If this product is used for 10 days or longer, intraocular pressure should be monitored. Cataract formation, delayed wound healing, possibility of bacterial/viral/fungal infection.
There are no adequate data in pregnant women, nursing women and in pediatric population.,This product should only be used in pregnancy if considered essential by the physician.
Drug-drug interaction studies have not been conducted
Raised IOP,optic nerve damage, visual acuity and field defects, posterior subcapsular cataract formation, delayed wound healing and secondary ocular infection from pathogens including herpes simplex.
