Caripill Tablets and Syrup (Carica papaya leaf extract)

  • Each Caripill tablet contain 1100 mg of Carica Papaya leaf extract. Caripill Syrup Contains 275 mg/ 5ml carica papaya leaf extract.
  • As an adjuvant for increasing the thrombocytes associated with dengue fever. In thrombocytopenia for treatment and/or prevention ofbleeding. In chemotherapy induced thrombocytopenia.
  • Clinical evidence shows that C. papaya extract increases ALOX 12 gene by 15-fold activity and PTFAR gene 13.42-fold activity which is responsible for increased platelet production.
  • For Chemotherapy Induced Thrombocytopenia: 1100 mg three times a day throughout the chemotherapy cycle. For Dengue: 1100 mg three times a day x 5 days.For Children: Aged >1 to 5 years: 5 ml three times a day for five days. For children: Aged 6-12 years: 10 ml 3 times daily for 5 days.
  • Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any ingredients of the product. Contraindicated in Pregnancy as there is no data. Disorders related to prostate gland or BPH.
  • Should be used with caution in individuals with bleeding disorders or those taking blood thinning medications such as aspirin or warfarin. Co administration of extracts of Carica papaya with oral hypoglycemic may lead to very low blood glucose as observed in one of the experimental animal study. Thus it is important to closely monitor the blood glucose levels regularly to avoid hypoglycemia.
  • Contraindicated in Pregnancy and lactation as there is no data.
  • It has been found to increase the bioavailablity of amiodarone and therefore the dose should be adjusted accordingly when coadministered with carica papaya leaf extract
  • Usually well tolerated. Rarely in some: nausea, vomiting, heart burning and abdominal pain.
