Dolowin MR Tablets (Aceclofenac + Paracetamol + Chlorzoxazone)

  • Each tablet contains Aceclofenac 100mg + Paracetamol 325mg + Chlorzoxazone 250mg.
  • Relieve pain and swelling in various conditions like muscle pain, joint pain, soft tissue injury and postoperative pain.
  • Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal agent with marked anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The mode of action of aceclofenac is largely based on the inhibition to prostaglandin synthesis. Aceclofenac is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme, COX, which is involved in the production of prostaglandins. The precise mechanism of the analgesic and antipyretic properties of acetaminophen is not established but is thought to primarily involve central actions.Chlorzoxazone is a centrally-acting agent for painful musculoskeletal conditions.Chlorzoxazone acts primarily at the level of the spinal cord and subcortical areas of the brain where it inhibits multisynaptic reflex arcs involved in producing and maintaining skeletal muscle spasm of varied etiology.
  • Two tablets daily, taken as one tablet in the morning and one in the evening.
  • Contraindicated in patients with a history of or active, recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage (two or more distinct episodes of proven ulceration or bleeding), active hepatic impairment and in patients with known sensitivity to this drug or other any other ingredients.
  • Caution is required if administered to patients suffering from, or with a previous history of, bronchial asthma since NSAIDs have been reported to precipitate bronchospasm in such patients. Paracetamol may cause liver damage if more than the recommended dose is taken. Allergic reactions like swelling of the face, mouth and throat, difficulty in breathing, itching or rash may occur due to high doses of paracetamol. Serious (including fatal) hepatocellular toxicity has been reported rarely in patients receiving Chlorzoxazone. Discontinue Dolowin-MR if signs of hepatotoxicity is noticed.

NSAIDs may exacerbate cardiac failure, reduce the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and increase plasma glycoside levels. The anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins may be enhanced by prolonged regular daily use of paracetamol with increased risk of bleeding; occasional doses have no significant effect. The concomitant use of alcohol or other central nervous system depressants may have an additive, effect.
  • The most frequent side effects are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, heartburn, loss of appetite, diarrhea, pruritis, drowsiness and light-headedness.
