Hopace Tablets (Ramipril)

  • Each tablet contains 1.25mg / 2.5mg / 5mg /10mg of Ramipril.
  • Indicated in the treatment of hypertension, cardiac failure and myocardial infarction. i)Prevention of MI, CV death or stroke in high risk CV patients. ii) Prevention of MI CV death or stroke in high risk diabetes patients.For the treatment ofnon-diabetic overt glomerular or incipient nephropathy.For the treatment ofnon-diabetic overt glomerular or incipient nephropathy.
  • Inhibition of angiotensin converting enzymeresults in decreased plasma angiotensin II,which leads to decreased vasopressor activity and to decreased aldosterone secretionreduces stress on the heart and relaxes blood vessel.
  • Hypertension:Initial dose is 1.25 mg to 20 mg once dailyAdjust dosage according to blood pressure responses. Reduction in the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, or death from cardiovascular causes: 2.5 mg once daily for 1 week, 5 mg once daily for 3 weeks, and increased as tolerated to a maintenance dose of 10 mg once daily. Heart failure post-myocardial infarction: Starting dose of 2.5 mg twice daily. Increase dose as tolerated towards target dose of 5 mg twice daily, with dosage increases about 3 weeks apart.
  • Angioedema related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor, or a history of hereditary or idiopathic angioedema. Do not co-administer with aliskiren in patients with diabetes or in patients with renal impairment (GFR < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2).
  • Cough, Hypotension, Hyperkalemia, Renal impairment.
  • Pregnancy category D. Discontinue the drug if pregnancy is detected, not recommended in nursing mothers, safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
  • Concomitant use with NSAID, motor inhibitoris not recommended. Lithium and diuretics should be used with caution along with ramipril, due to possibility of excessive hypotension.
  • The most common adverse reactions in patients with hypertension included headache, dizziness, fatigue, and cough.
