Each tablet contains Benidipine Hydrochloride of 4mg/8mg.
Indicated for the treatment of hypertension and long term prophylactic management of angina pectoris.
Benidipine is a dihydropyridine-derived calcium channel blocker.Benidipine blocks ‘L’ and ‘N’ type Ca2+ channels cause vasodilationand blocks ‘T’ type Ca2+ channels in adrenal glands and in kidney thus, reduces the production of aldosterone.
In adults for Hypertension 4 mg once dailyif necessary increase to 8 mg once daily.In angina pectoris 4 mg twice daily.
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component in the product.
Abrupt withdrawal of the drug should not be done. Periodic assessment of renal function is necessary.
Not recommended in pregnancy and lactation. Safety and effectiveness of benidipinein pediatric populationhave not been established.
Monitoring of the serum concentration forDigoxin is recommended and caution should be excised during concomitant use with diuretics and β blocker.
