Arbitel CT Tablets (Telmisartan + Chlorthalidone)

• Composition :
  Each tablet contains Telmisartan 40 mg / 80 mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg.
• Indications :
  Indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension.
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Telmisartan is angiotensin II receptor antagonist it blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues.Chlorthalidone is a benzothiadiazine (thiazide) related diuretic acts primarily on the distal renal tubule, inhibiting NaCl¯ reabsorption and promoting Ca++ reabsorption, thereby increasing water excretion.
• Dosage and administration :
  The usual initial dosage is one tablet of Arbitel CT 40 taken orally once daily in the morning,if necessary to two tablets of Arbitel CT 40 or one tablet of Arbitel CT 80.
• Contraindications :
  Anuria, known hypersensitivity to telmisartan, chlorthalidone or any sulfonamide drugsor any other component of this product and severe hepatic or renal failure
• Precautions and warnings :
  Hypotension, Serum Electrolyte Imbalances,Impaired Hepatic &Renal Function.
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  Not recommended in pregnancy and lactation,safety and effectiveness ofin pediatric patients have not been established.
• Drug interactions :
  Concomitant use with aliskiren is not recommended, Lithium and Digoxin levels should be monitored during concomitant administration.
• Adverse reactions :
  The most common adverse events arehypokalemia, hyperuricemia,tachycardia, angina pectoris
