Fintrix cream (Terbinafine)

• Composition :
  Terbinafine hydrochloride 1% w/w Cream
• Indications :
  Fungal infection of skin, hair nails.
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal, inhibits biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membrane, via inhibition of squalene epoxidase enzyme. This results in fungal cell death primarily due to the increased membrane permeability mediated by the accumulation of high concentrations of squalene.
• Dosage and administration :
  1% of Terbinafine HCL is applied once daily for seven days. The affected areas should be cleansed and dried thoroughly before applying. Sufficient amounts should be applied to cover the treatment area(s) thoroughly, including the affected skin and surrounding area
• Contraindications :
  Fintrix cream is contraindicated in known or suspected hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any other of its components.
• Precautions and warnings :
  Terbinafine cream is not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use. If irritation or sensitivity develops, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  Pregnancy Category B should be used only if clearly indicated during pregnancy.
• Drug interactions :
  Potential interactions between terbinafine cream and other drugs have not been systematically evaluated.
• Adverse reactions :
  The most common adverse reactions are burning or irritation, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis and pruritus
