Arbitel AMH Tablets (Telmisartan + Amlodipine + Hydrochlorothiazide)

  • Telmisartan 40mg + Amlodipine 5mg + Hydochlorothiazide 12.5mg.
  • For the treatment of essential hypertension
  • Telmisartan is angiotensin II receptor blocker. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker lowers blood pressure by reducing peripheral resistance.Hydrochlorothiazide affects the distal renal tubular mechanism of electrolyte reabsorption increases excretion of sodium and chloride, thereby increasing excretion of water.
  • One tablet, once a day in the morning.
  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivityto this product or any other component of this product. Because of the hydrochlorothiazide component, this product is contraindicated in patients with anuria or hypersensitivity to other sulfonamide-derived drugs.
  • Hypotension, hyperkalemia, electrolyte disturbances, patients with impaired hepatic and renal function,risk of myocardial infarction or increased angina, heart failure, acute myopia and secondary angle-closure glaucoma.
  • Discontinue the tablet as soon aspregnancy is detected, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies established for safety and efficacy in lactation and pediatric patients.
  • Monitoring of the serum digoxin and lithium is recommended. Concomitant use of telmisartan and ramipril is not recommendeddue to potentiation of hypotensive effect. NSAIDs: In elderly volume-depleted patients with compromised renal function, concomitant use can result in deterioration of renal function. NSAIDs can reduce the diuretic, natriuretic and antihypertensive effects of thiazide diuretics. Alcohol, barbiturates or narcotics may increase the risk of orthostatic hypotension. Antidiabetic drugs: dosage adjustments may be required. Corticosteroids, ACTH: Intensified electrolyte depletion, particularly hypokalemia. Responsiveness to skeletal muscle relaxants may be increased.
  • The most commonly reported adverse events areheadache, dizziness, weakness, anaphylactic reactions,electrolyte imbalance,hyperglycemia & glycosuria and back pain.
