Arbitel AM Tablets (Telmisartan + Amlodipine)

• Composition :
  Each tablet contains Telmisartan 40/80mg + Amlodipine 5mg.
• Indications :
  Indicated in the treatment of essential hypertension in adults.
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Telmisartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland.Amlodipine is a peripheral arterial vasodilator that acts directly on vascular smooth muscle by blockingcalcium channel that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ionsand reduces peripheral vascular resistance and reduction in blood pressure.
• Dosage and administration :
  Telmisartan is an effective treatment of hypertension to be started once daily with doses of Telmisartan 40mg+Amlodipine 5mgthen increase gradually to Telmisartan80mg + Amlodipine 5mg, if required.
• Contraindications :
  Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this product or any other component of this product.
• Precautions and warnings :
  Avoid fetal or neonatal exposure. Caution should be exercised in case of hypotension, hyperkalemia, patients with impaired hepatic and renal function, risk of myocardial infarction or increased angina, heart failure, acute myopia and secondary angle-closure glaucoma.
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  Discontinue the tablet as soon aspregnancy is detected, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies established for safety and efficacy in lactation and pediatric patients.
• Drug interactions :
  Monitoring of the serum digoxin and lithium is recommended.Concomitant use of telmisartan and ramipril is not recommended.
• Adverse reactions :
  The most commonly reported adverse events are headache, dizziness, weakness, anaphylactic reactions,electrolyte imbalance hyperglycemia, peripheral edema & glycosuria,
