Angizaar Tablets (Losartan)

• Composition :
  Each tablet contains Losartan 25mg &50mg.
• Indications :
  Mild to moderate hypertension.
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Losartan is an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) that may be used alone or with other agents to treat hypertension.
• Dosage and administration :
  One tablet a day.
• Contraindications :
  Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients. Avoid use in Pregnancy.Coadministration with aliskiren in patients with diabetes
• Precautions and warnings :
  Hypotension, Renal Impairment: Need to monitor renal function and potassium in susceptible patients. Avoid concomitant use of an ACE inhibitor and angiotensin receptorblocker. Avoid fetal or neonatal exposure.
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  When used in pregnancy during the second and third trimesters, drugs that act directly on the renin-angiotensin system can cause injury and even death to the developing foetus, when pregnancy is detected,Losartan should be discontinued as soon as possible.It is not known whether losartan is excreted in human milk, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.Safety and effectiveness of losartan in pediatric patients have not been established.
• Drug interactions :
  Losartan-co-administration of some angiotensin II receptor blocker agents with aliskiren is contraindicated in patients with diabetes. Dual inhibition of the renin-angiotensin system: Increased risk of renal impairment, hypotension, syncope, and hyperkalemia
• Adverse reactions :
  The most commonly reported adverse events are dizziness, upper respiratory infection, nasal congestion, and back pain
