Amlozaar Tablets (Amlodipine + Losartan postassium)

• Composition :
  Each tablet contains Amlodipine 5mg + Losartan 50mg.
• Indications :
  For the treatment of essential hypertension.
• Pharmacodynamics :
  Amlodipine is a calcium ion influx inhibitor of the dihydropyridine group (slow channel blocker or calcium ion antagonist) and inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle. Losartan is an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) that may be used alone or with other agents to treat hypertension.
• Dosage and administration :
  One tablet once a day.
• Contraindications :
  Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients. . Avoid use in Pregnancy. Coadministration with aliskiren in patients with diabetes.
• Precautions and warnings :
  Hypotension, Renal Impairment: Need to monitor renal function and potassium in susceptible patients. Slowly Titrate when administering calcium channel blockers to patients with severe hepatic impairment
• Use in pregnancy, lactation & pediatrics :
  Teratogenic Effects, Pregnancy Categories C (first trimester) and D (second and third trimesters).Discontinue the tablet as soon aspregnancy is detected, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies established for safety and efficacy in nursing women and children.
• Drug interactions :
  Monitoring of the serum digoxin and lithium is recommended.. Dual inhibition of the renin-angiotensin system: Increased risk of renal impairment, hypotension, syncope, and hyperkalemia.
• Adverse reactions :
  The most commonly reported adverse events are headache, peripheral edema,fatigue, nausea.
