Pantocar-D Capsules (Pantoprazole + Domperidone) .

  • Pantoprazole 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg SR capsules.
  • For the treatment of gastroesophagal reflux diseases (GERD) not responding to pantoprazole.
  • Pantoprazole acts by selectively inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme in the secretory canaliculus of the stimulated parietal cell. Domperidone stimulates GI activity by acting as a competitive antagonist at dopamine D2-receptors.
  • One capsule daily before meals.
  • The use of this product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
  • Atrophic gastritis has been noted with long-term therapy. Bone Fracture: Long-term and multiple daily dose PPI therapy may be associated with an increased risk for osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip, wrist or spine.
  • There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in human pregnancy, lactation and infants. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
  • Concomitant use of atazanavir or nelfinavir with PPIs is not recommended. Domperidone interferes with serum prolactin levels; it may interfere with other hyperprolactinemic agents. Concomitant warfarin use may require monitoring.
  • The most frequent side-effects are headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, dizziness, and arthralgia.
