Omiflux (Omeprazole + Domperidone).

  • Each capsule contains Omeprazole 20mg + Domperidone 10mg.
  • Indicated for GERD not responding to Omeprazole.
  • Omeprazole inhibits the secretion of gastric acid by irreversibly blocking the enzyme system of H+/K+ATPase of the gastric parietal cell. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2-receptor antagonist, which regulates the motility of gastric and small intestinal smooth muscle. It increases the duration of antral and duodenal contractions and also LES resting pressure, thus stimulating gastric emptying and is also effective in relief of symptoms of reflux esophagitis.
  • recommended dose in patients with an active duodenal ulcer is Omeprazole 20mg once daily.
  • Contraindicated in patients with known sensitivity to this drug or other any other ingredients. Omeprazole like other proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) must not be used concomitantly with nelfinavir
  • Atrophic gastritis: has been noted with long-term therapy. Omeprazole may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) due to hypo- or achlorhydria. This should be considered in patients with reduced body stores or risk factors for reduced vitamin B12absorption on long-term therapy002E Proton pump inhibitors, especially if used in high doses and over long durations (>1 year), may modestly increase the risk of hip, wrist and spine fracture, predominantly in the elderly or in presence of other recognised risk factors.
  • There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in human pregnancy, lactation and children. This product should only be used in pregnancy if considered essential by the physician. a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother
  • reduces plasma levels of atazanavir and nelfinavir. Concomitant use is not recommended. Drugs metabolized by cytochrome P450 (e.g., diazepam, warfarin, phenytoin, cyclosporine, disulfiram, benzodiazepines): Omeprazole can prolong their elimination
  • The most frequent side effects are Headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and flatulence.
