Rispond Plus LS tablets (Risperidone + Trihexyphenidyl).

  • Each tablet contains Risperidone 2 mg + Trihexyphenidyl 2 mg Tablet.
  • The composition is used for the treatment and management of schizophrenia and acute maniac episodes associated with bipolar disorders.
  • Risperidone works by antagonism of combination of dopamine Type 2 (D2 ) and serotonin Type 2 (5HT2) receptors; Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic agent, which acts as a potent indirect dopamine agonist.
  • One tablet per day can be taken with or without food.
  • Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to active ingredients or excipients in the formulation, Narrow angle glaucoma.

  • Risperidone- Effects of levodopa and dopamine agonists may be antagonized. Cimetidine and ranitidine increase the bioavailability of risperidone. Trihexyphenidyl: Cannabinoids, barbituates, opiates, and alcohol may have additive effects .
  • The most common adverse effects are somnolence fatigue, akathisia, hyperglycaemia, Constipation, dizziness, tiredness, blurred vision and dryness in mouth.
